From Monday 15th of June we will be continuing to accommodate the children of key workers in school. Parents wishing to send their children back tomorrow have already been in contact with us, and we have confirmed their child’s place. If you have not completed the online application form please do not send your child to school tomorrow. We need time to make the necessary arrangements for larger groups of students, and with the announcement about the removal of the requirement for social distancing coming during the holidays, we have not yet been able to make appropriate arrangements to take in greater numbers of students safely.

I will be speaking to the Minister for Education and DESC officers tomorrow to confirm the details of the return to school, hopefully, of all year groups possibly from the start of the week beginning 22 June 2020. I will be in touch with you at the end of tomorrow to confirm those arrangements.

In the meantime time I must remind you not to send your child to school if he or she is showing any of the symptoms of COVID-19, which include a new continuous cough, a temperature and/or a loss of taste and smell. In the event of your child or any of your family showing symptoms, please contact the Covid helpline by dialling 111.
