RAMSEY GRAMMAR SCHOOL

DELIVERING EXCELLENCE FOR ALL

In assemblies this week members of the Royal British Legion spoke about the importance of the Poppy Appeal to our students. On Friday Major Charles Wilson spoke to KS3 students, on Tuesday Ann & Jim Collier spoke to KS4 students and on Wednesday Ray Ferguson spoke to our KS5 students. All the presentations were different and all catered for the appropriate age range of the students. All presentations highlighted the importance of contributing to the Poppy Appeal, especially in 2020, when charities like the Royal British Legion have struggled for funds. Year 12 student, Spencer Footer played the Last Post at every assembly. Ann also provided us with ten facts about the Royal British Legion and the Isle of Man (attached).

In addition at 11am on the 11 November, Oscar Bovenier and Spencer Footer played the Last Post and students stopped what they were doing for two minutes of silent reflection.

RGS would like to thank, Charles, Ann & Jim, Ray, Spencer and Oscar for their contribution.
