Good afternoon Parents, Carers and Students
You will no doubt have been keeping up to date with the Government plans for moving out of lockdown however I wanted to keep you updated with planning for what school may look like next week. It is clear that all schools are awaiting confirmation of Government plans based on the current data. This will allow us to firm up our planning at school level.
You will have heard yesterday the Chief Minister reiterating the overview of the phased re-opening of schools and as such we are beginning to see a way forward as follows. On Monday 12th April we will hopefully be able to allow staff to return to prepare buildings and resources after the enforced closure of school. On Tuesday 13th April, and for the remainder of next week, selected year 11 and 13 may be able to return. This is likely to be based on a bespoke timetable that we will only be able to confirm on Friday morning as, although the Leadership Group have met today, without clear parameters we only have a range of hypothetical options at this stage all dependent on mitigations that may be required. What is clear is that we will endeavour to use next week to allow for direct contact with year 11 and 13.
As I have said, our final plans are dependent upon Public Health informed Government decisions and as such we will only have clarity following meetings on Thursday 8th April. We will communicate specific plans for phased year 11 and year 13 return on Friday morning.
