It was nice to be able to welcome some students back to school for some initial contact with their teachers today. As stated in the Government briefings, the year 11 and year 13/14 students have been prioritised for face to face contact this week in preparation for assessments as alternative to the cancelled exams. Although by no means normal with strict social distancing, regular cleaning and face coverings in place, it is certainly a welcome first step and I’m sure we all look forward to a return for all students in in the near future.
We all await guidance from Government regarding when a full return may be possible however when we do return we will try to make things as normal as possible, for example we will expect full uniform and we will continue to provide access to excellent pastoral and wellbeing support. We will also, however maintain aspects of the ‘new normal’ with reminders about the importance of hand hygiene and respect for personal space.
All that is for the future and for now I hope that we can all navigate this next few days successfully and I will, hopefully, have some more definite and positive news for you all on Friday.
As ever, we wish you the very best of health.
