Last week 7 year 12 students from RGS and 1 student from QE2 travelled to the beautiful town of Bayreuth (located in south Bavaria, Germany), in order to carry out 5 days of work experience. Placements included: a primary school for international refugee students, a medical centre, working in an advertising agency, a bio medical engineering company, working as English assistants and helping in a boarding school.
As well as their work experience placements students enjoyed fantastic cultural opportunities with their exchange partners to visit the nearby cities of Bamberg, Nuremberg and visit the historic town of Bayreuth. Students had a great week learning about German lifestyle, culture and enjoyed trying local food such as CurryWurst, Bratfurst and Schnitzel!

German is taught at RGS as part of our 6th form enrichment programme so the students also enjoyed practising and improving their spoken German!
The students were an excellent representation of RGS and a pleasure to take abroad.
At the end of June we very much look forward to welcoming our exchange partners and showing them around the beautiful IOM.
