The students in the LSU worked hard to put together an afternoon of cake, sandwiches, tea and entertainment on Wednesday (22nd), all in the name of Connell Tebay.
Connell was an RGS student who passed away suddenly in July 2015. He was much loved by all who knew him, therefore, staff and students in the LSU wanted to pay tribute to him and decided to do it in the form of a bench.
The bench was made by Dave Richards of Woodworks and depicts Connell’s love of jigsaws, rainbows and Disney and is a perfect place to sit and reflect.
Special mentions to those students who performed for all of our guests; dances from Lottie Arthur, Tom Read and Henry Crane of Cluny, whilst solo singing performances were given by Molly Cannan and Becca Maroney. We also had a heart warming performance of
Somewhere Over the Rainbow by Connor Surridge on the keyboard.
A fitting afternoon in memory of a happy, cheeky, boy. If you would like to see the bench in all its glory, visit the LSU in the SS& S.
