Students at KS3 follow a bespoke course that is designed to inspire a love of the English language in all its forms. With a firm base in literary texts, students are invited to explore a variety of issues, from representations of war to picturing the natural world. Students develop their knowledge of important texts and periods of literary history and through this study become practiced, ambitious writers themselves. Discussion, presentation and group studies encourage students to develop their spoken English skills whilst learning to think deeply and critically about texts.

At home, the greatest way to improve your English skills is to read widely and often and for pleasure. Reading for one hour a day means you will have read over four million words in a year. Therefore, always, your home learning should involve reading. We also recommend vocabulary.com as a useful site for spelling and vocabulary building.

KS3 English support work can be found by accessing the student's google classroom sites

If a student cannot access the course then they(not the parent/carer) must email RGS Enquiries with the subject that they cannot access and their year group.
