Students at KS4 follow the Cambridge IGCSE English Language (0500) course, preparing to sit examination in both reading and writing. For detailed information about the course, please download the ‘Learners guide to 0500 pdf’.
At Ramsey Grammar School, students sit both Paper 1 and Paper 2.
Furthermore, KS4 students also follow the Cambridge IGCSE English Literature (0475) course, studying prose, drama and poetry for examination. For more detailed information about the course, please download the ‘Learners guide to 0475 pdf’.
At home, the greatest way to improve your English skills is to read widely and often and for pleasure. Reading for one hour a day means you will have read over four million words in a year. Therefore, always, your home learning should involve reading. We also recommend vocabulary.com as a useful site for spelling and vocabulary building.
KS4 English support work can be found by accessing the student's google classroom site, students should already be enrolled on this course
If a student cannot
access the course then they (not the parent/carer) must email RGS Enquiries with the subject that they cannot access and their year
group.
