KS3 ICT support work can be found by accessing the student's itslearning page. All students have access to this via the itslearning site.
If a student cannot
access the page then they (not the parent/carer) must email RGS Enquiries with the subject that they cannot access and their year
group.
KS3 lessons consists of 1 lesson per week in Y7 & Y9. In Y8 Computing sits within the technology rotation where students have a double lesson for 10 weeks of the school year.
Year 7 Topics
Term 1: Core Skill (Word Processing, Presenting, Spreadsheets)
Term 2: Scratch Programming (Introduction to Computer Programming)
Term 3: What is a Computer? (Theory of computers and how they work)
Term 4: BBC: Microbit Programming.
Year 8 Topics
Year 8 is split into 2 units. First unit is on publishing documents and the second unit is on Blender which is creating 3D graphics.
Year 9 Topics
1st½ Term: What is a Computer?
2nd½ Term: Spreadsheets
3rd½ Term: Python Programming
4th½ Term: Databases
Summer Term: Graphics Design including Photoshop & Illustrator Skills
